My Journey into

UX Research

I graduated in Filmmaking from London South Bank University and began my career in luxury retail, working for Chanel at Harrods for several years. Although I loved the creative environment, I eventually realised I wanted to transition into technology.

Since fashion had always been a big part of my life, I joined the fashion tech industry, starting in Customer Care at Lyst, where I not only handled dealing with customer enquiries but also played a vital role in collecting customer insights and sharing them across diverse teams.

As a fundamental member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, I created internal initiatives to promote a diverse and inclusive workplace culture. I developed a deep appreciation for how technology shapes user experiences. My curiosity about how products are built and improved led me to study UX Design, where I discovered my true passion for the psychological and behavioral aspects of UX Research.

Today, I’m the Lead User Researcher at Una, where I apply user-centered methodologies to bridge the gap between human behavior and digital product design.

Volunteer work

Summer Gaymes

Gaymes is an exciting and vibrant annual fundraising event which my friends and I organise every summer. It's a queer sports day, bringing together people from diverse backgrounds and communities to celebrate unity and inclusivity . All donations go directly towards supporting various LGBTQ+ charities, helping to make a positive impact on the community.

Out In Tech

I had a great opportunity to participate remotely in a remarkable event organised by Out In Tech. An initiative focused on empowering the LGBTQ+ community through technology. This event was particularly impactful as it aimed at building websites for LGBTQ+ non-governmental organisations worldwide.

UX Crunch

UX Crunch is London’s premier user experience networking events company, hosting engaging events at diverse venues across the city that offer insight into the workspaces of leading user experience companies. I actively contribute helping hosting the event on a
monthly basis.

In this particular event, I was an active member of a team that developed a website for Rainbow Women of Kenya, an organisation doing essential work for LGBTQ+ rights in Kenya. It was a rewarding experience that highlighted the potential of technology to create meaningful change.

Education

UX/UI Design Course | CareerFoundry

A 10-month intensive, mentored UX Design training program covering the end-to-end design process through written materials, in-house video tutorials, and hands-on projects.

Throughout the course, I was supported by a dedicated tutor who guided me through the curriculum and a mentor who assessed my work and provided personalized feedback on each project.

BA in Filmmaking | London South Bank University

This practice-based Arts degree provided comprehensive training across the entire filmmaking process, including screenwriting, directing, costume design, lighting, editing, cinematography, and production.

Over the three-year program, I worked on both individual and collaborative projects, developing a diverse set of creative, analytical, and communication skills, many of which I continue to apply in user research and experience design today.
