Habit Build Mechanism
In this case study, I’ll walk through this phase of product development. The journey of designing a habit-building mechanism that helps users build sustainable habits around sleep, steps, and stress management.
This process spanned my involvement through every stage of the product journey. Beginning with early ideas and brainstorming, moving into user research methodologies, sketching and journey mapping, then designing, user testing, iterating, and finally launching the feature.
Adding solutions for User Stories…
…through User Journey Maps
…and then started sketching !
We filtered some ideas and created User Flows
User Tests
After several meetings and collaborative discussions, our team (consisting of the product manager, product designer, developer, and myself) aligned on which ideas were feasible to pursue.
The product designer then produced initial prototype flows, and I conducted multiple usability tests to validate them.
Based on the insights learned from the test, I created an analysis with recommendations that the Product Designer used to iterate the design.
The launching
We launched the habit-building mechanism as a web app, and it was incredibly rewarding to see one of my proposed concepts, the habit-stacking technique brought to life.
It became a core part of how we guided users to build sustainable habits across sleep, daily movement, and stress management.
